Jennifer Grey Net Worth $5 Million

Jennifer Grey comes from an illustrious line of entertainers and performers. Grey’s father, Joel Grey, is a well-known actor in his own right, and has won several awards over the course of his long career – including an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award – while Jennifer’s mother was, likewise, a former actress herself – Jo Wilder. With her parents’ careers to draw on for inspiration, Jennifer Grey looked set on being an actress from her youth, and to that end Grey attended a number of acting and performance schools as a teen – including Manhattan’s Dalton School, where Jennifer first encountered her future friend and fellow actress, Tracy Pollan. With determination to succeed and an impressive education under her belt, Jennifer Grey’s career took off quickly, and within a year of her first acting debut, Grey had already made the jump from commercials to the big screen.

Success would find Jennifer Grey quickly – something that has definitely contributed to the actress’s considerable net worth. Grey’s first film debut was in 1984, and her small role in the romantic drama “Reckless” opened the door for larger parts. By 1986, Jennifer Grey was already making her mark as a talented actress, having been cast in one of the central roles for the successful comedy “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”, in which Grey appeared alongside fellow lead actors Matthew Broderick and Alan Ruck, and future superstar Charlie Sheen. The very next year, Grey returned to cinemas in her most successful role to date, as the lead actress alongside Patrick Swayze in the romantic drama “Dirty Dancing” – a performance which earned Jennifer Grey a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress. Grey’s talent won her critical acclaim and paved the way for the whole of her future career – and it certainly gave her net worth a sizable boost.

Jennifer Grey has has continued to feature in various well-known television productions and series. In total more than 50 productions on the big screen and TV. Grey’s most recent appearances include a guest role in the popular Fox medical drama “House MD”, starring alongside show lead Hugh Laurie, and a perhaps predictable victory in the 2010 season of the reality dance competition “Dancing with the Stars”, in which Jennifer performed alongside professional dancer Derek Hough.

In addition, the actress has managed to make a number of clever investments, and Grey’s foray into the world of business has not hurt her net worth one bit.

Today, Jennifer Grey lives in California together with her husband of 13 years, director and actor Clark Gregg. Grey and Gregg are currently raising a daughter together – Stella.

#Quote
1On the death of Patrick Swayze, she stated, "When I think of him, I think of being in his arms when we were kids, dancing, practicing the lift in the freezing lake, having a blast doing this tiny little movie we thought no one would ever see. He was a real cowboy with a tender heart. Which is why it was not surprising to me that the war he waged on his cancer was so courageous and dignified. Patrick was a rare and beautiful combination of raw masculinity and amazing grace. My heart goes out to his wife and childhood sweetheart, Lisa Niemi, to his mom, Patsy Swayze, and to the whole family.
