According to reliable sources, she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer after being admitted to Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami earlier this year.

Following her diagnosis, a Dosamentes representative told the press that she was responding to treatment but was not hospitalized and that Susana was always going to the hospital to continue her chemotherapies prior to her death.

Enrique Rubio was her ex-husband who happened to be a Lawyer. Apparently, they were married for only five years till they broke up. However, their union brought forth two kids who are adults now; Paulina and Enrique Rubio Jr.

Enrique Rubio is said to have passed on over a decade ago in Mexico city. However, to date what killed him still remains a mystery to be unraveled.
